I love a lot of bands very much but very few bands have been able to make me feel as if music had a physical texture that I could feel. each time you experience this band it gets better and better. There isn't anything by tool that I don't like and if you have only heard a song once or only seen a video once listen or watch again. This set does the Tool community justice and I encourage everyone to check it out. The hidden track alone is worth the cost of the set. The CD ends with a recording from the LA Municiple Court and a hidden track. Third Eye w/ Tim Leary (god of acid trips) is truly phenomenal.

And almost all of the videos are in claymation :)(the exception is Opiate's Hush.) The live cd contains some covers and some stuff live. While cryptic the videos all contain keys to the meaning of the videos. With Maynard James Keenan's vivid vocals, Paul D'Amour's magnificent bass playing, Adam Jones on guitar, and the truly demi god-like Danny Carey on drums, this band is one of those band you didnt know was needed until it came about. Sitting down and watching music videos has never been this much fun and enlightening. The videos are all very well done and very well presented with the tradition enigmatic Tool style. The VHS has all of the above with the exception of Hush. Only a few times before has a band proved to be so diverse with lyrics and music (David Bowie and Pink Floyd come to mind immediatly off hand, along with some others.) The DVD includes videos for Hush, Prison Sex, Sober, Aenima, and Stinkfist. This pre-Lateralus era set of Tool music videos and the cd contain support that fact. Tool has definitly proved that they are an evolutionary band.

Tool has been pleasing fans for 11 years this year, since 1992's Opiate E.P. Salival, so named because the many fans of this truly awesome band have been waiting for it so long. I can't wait for the "Schism" DVD to be released in late 2001 it's their best video so far. 2) The CD only has a few songs on it, but at least it clocks-in at close to 70 minutes. The only complaints: 1) The DVD is too short, containing only the videos.

At this time, no other band out there is this complex and creative. If you like their long, epic tracks like `Eulogy' and `Lateralus', you won't want to miss this. Although there are only 3 or 4 great songs on the CD, they provide a new insight into the band, displaying a style that is unique to any of their albums.
Tool lateralus live visuals plus#
It is very cool to get the four major videos on DVD, plus a bonus video from "Opiate". The packaging concept of the set makes it a great collectors' item, as well. The third track, "Pushit", was re-written specifically for the stage, and it's well worth the price of admission. I don't know how they got this kind of quality and production value, but the energy of the performances is mesmerizing. The live performances have a supersonic sound quality which easily rivals any live recording. If you like Aenima or Lateralus, Salival is a welcome addition. Although the DVD doesn't contain any live material, the CD does. This box set from TOOL comes with a music CD and DVD, or VHS tape but the DVD contains an extra video and is in Dolby 5.1 surround sound.
